Jewelry Care Guide
Everyday wear
Take rings and bracelets off before swimming, showering, exercising, or applying lotion and perfume — chlorine and harsh chemicals can dull metal finishes and loosen settings over time. Put jewelry on last, after makeup and hair products.
Cleaning at home
Warm water, a few drops of mild dish soap, and a soft-bristled brush (an old toothbrush works) is enough for routine cleaning. Gently brush around the setting, rinse well, and dry with a lint-free cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners on pieces with fracture-filled or treated stones, and avoid abrasive cloths on softer metals.
Storage
Store pieces separately — in individual soft pouches or a lined box — so stones and metal don't scratch each other. Diamonds are the hardest natural material and will scratch other jewelry (including other diamonds) if left touching.
Metal-specific notes
14K and 18K gold wear differently over years of daily use, and white gold's bright finish comes from rhodium plating that wears down over time. Our guide on this: Does 18K Gold Fade? Why White Gold Turns Yellow Over Time.
